THE LAND OF TASTY FOOD AND WINE GOURMAND TOUR (2 DAYS/1 NIGHT) It's said that vine and man appeared in Georgia at the same time and that they still support each other. Wine is a symbol of Georgian hospitality, friendship, tolerance and a key to the mystery of Georgian longevity. Enjoy Gorgian national cuisine , markable for an abundance of all kind of meat, fish and vegetables, various sorts of cheese, pickles and pungent/hot seasonings.
Day 1 Tbilisi Telavi
Drive along the Wine Route, trough the beautiful landscape of vineyards and wine-producing villages. In afternoon arrive in Kakheti region of Georgia (which is synonymous with wine) as a fitting place to begin our introduction to the world-renowned Georgian hospitality and delicious food and wine.
Explore Signagi - a Royal town surrounded by the defensive walls with 23 towers. Each of these towers were named after nearby villages and respective families and served as a refuge in case of danger. The town was mainly inhabited by merchants and artisans. It had many gates through which numerous Silk Road travellers from Asia and Europe passed on their way. Also visit Historical and ethnographical museum, which houses an exposition of the pictures of Niko Pirosmani, Archaeological materials discovered in the area as well as ethnographical corner with rich collection of items used in everyday life and weapons. Lunch at traditional restaurant.
In the evening arrive in Telavi, En rout visit Gremi architectural complex. Dinner will be served in warm family atmosphere, where special village corner will be organized for our guests; You are welcomed to take part in traditional Sweet "Churchkhela" making , baking traditional bread as well as make local Yogurt "Matsony" which will be served for breakfast next morning. Overnight at a local guesthouse.
Day 2 Signagi Gurjaani- Tbilisi
After breakfast visit Alaverdi Cathedral and Shuamta nunnery complex. Also visit Tsinandali Family Estate an ancient princely residence of the poet and public figure, of the 18th c Alexandre Chavchavadze.
Late lunch will be served at Gurjaani wine house; Here visit centuries old wine cellar; enjoy wine tasting and lunch; Late afternoon arrive in Tbilisi.
