This 2 days tour leads us to Kakheti - the main wine region of Georgia. We aim not only to give you sampling of Georgian wines, we would also like to show you the traditions, the history and the attitude of Georgians to wine as well as an appreciation of the wines we produce. The tour includes participation in vine gathering.


Day 1: Tbilisi - David Gareja - Telavi (210 km, 3 - 4 hours)
Tour Schedule:
Our trip will start in the morning (09:00-10:00). We will drive to David Gareja desert via town of Rustavi, which is one of the major industrial towns of Georgia.
Outdoor picnic lunch nearby the monastery complex. We will be in Telavi around 17:00 - 18:00. Dinner & overnight at the guesthouse.
Sights of excursion:
John The Baptist Monastery complex (6th - 9th cc, fragments of frescos); Lavra Monastery (6th c AD); Udabno Monastery complex (9th-17th cc frescos); 2-3 hours walking round trip
Day 2: Telavi - sightseeing tour (around 50 - 60 km round trip)
Breakfast. 09:00 start sightseeing tour including: Tsinandali - museum of Kakhetian prince of the 18th c Chavchavadze, beautiful English park, one of the oldest wine cellars (19th c) founded by Chavchvadze family. Shuamta - monastery complex, typical example of the early Christian architecture of Georgia. Vineyard in one of Kakhetian villages; Gremi fortress (16th - 17th cc); Alaverdi Cathedral (11th c) - symbol of blossoming of the Georgian culture;
Lunch en route. Return to Tbilisi around 18:00.
